Aris Celil

Young wizard--powerful for his age

Description:
Bio:
You were actually born in Anathar. You were one of those wilder mages that are either indoctrinated into the priesthood or killed. To the best of your recollection you were born a ward of the Church of Mulmon. Being a Wilder for you surfaced when you were five and you accidently set a Table Cloth on fire in a main dining area reserved for the priesthood for whom you served. You were immediately conscripted into potential priesthood ranks. The problem for you however, came during what is walled your confirmation. During this process new converts as it were are taken into a worship hall and your right hand is placed on a large round crystal globe that serves as an altar of sorts. Here most priest receive in their hand and implanted crystalline gem that serves as a badge of office and focus for the weird priestly powers Mulmon bestows to his priests. You quivered with excitement expecting to now be elevated to a status of priest, and instead, were scared when your touch of the crystal brought a shower of sparks, flame and pain, causing the crystal to shatter. You were of course immediately branded as cursed beyond redemption, and slated for immediate burning. So here you were barely six years old about to be burned at the stake, one minute you surrounded by flaming logs, the heat bearing down on your skin and hair, a crowd of jeering ugly faces surrounding you, the next second a powerful draft of air forces the flame away from you. You remember a blazing ball of silver light filled with random streaks of color in front of your eyes, a tingling all over your skin, and a voice in your head telling you all would be alright. As the silver light cleared and the spots faded from your eyes, you found yourself on the steps leading up to the Grand Temple of Eisssis (Goddess of Magic and Fate) in Strellin. You were immediately ushered into the the temple by a priest named Wynn. You have been raised in the temple and educated in the temple sponsored school and subsequently trained by wizard followers of the goddess in magic and spellcraft. You did not enter the priest hood, but you did befriend several of the priests including one who has gone on to be your best friend, Vareth Meintha . He was also an orphan adopted by the temple but his calling was as a priest, You have been best friends, and now even roommates for the last ten years. You know he too is special in his own right. Why do I say special? That is because you have a gift, not only an ease and aptitude for magic and the ability to outstrip even older students on the rise to wizardhood, you have what can only be described as a sixth sense for magic. You can “see” it all around you, feel it tugging at you, hear its music in your ears. It has made uniquely singular in your rise in magic comprehension and power. You have already written spells, and you can see the very weave and pattern of magic around you. Vareth has his own gift as well, he has the gift of sight and prophecy, and currently he has been haunted of late by dreams he has not even shared with you. You have adventured on and off, small delvings of exploration that have awarded you a small trove of enchanted items. Your most potent item to date, is your Staff, that even with all your enhanced magical senses you have yet to scratch the surface of You know it is very old, and you can even feel in it a “magic” that is different from even that practiced by you, very wild, powerful, elemental, and yet at its core, unworldly. You also have a feeling too that you will need to unlock its potential soon. Vareth has seen something in the future, something he had told you involves you, him and others, you cant help feeling a little overwhelmed all of a sudden.
